Rue d’Armand

2013   Public site-specific video/audio installation   9 ft. x 16 ft.
Collaboration with Tarek Abouamin

This project was a collaboration with Tarek Abouamin, an Egyptian-Canadian filmmaker and friend born on Rue d’Armand in Alexandria, Egypt and currently based in Halifax, NS.

We grafted video (one-to-one scale) recorded in and around Rue d’Armand onto the windows of a former Debut Fashions store located on the main level of Park Lane Mall in downtown Halifax.  Casual shoppers were confronted with a portal-like screen and accompanying audio that connected the most unlikely of sites, the contemporary shopping mall, with the streets of Alexandria.

The video was on an 8 minute loop and comprised of 6 different clips.
