Photos From the Hall
In the summer of 2008, a local chapter of the Free Masons organization sold their historic building in downtown Halifax and relocated outside of the city. Their former home dates back to the late 19th century and sprawls across 4 floors and half a city block.
I received my first tour of the site soon after the Masons vacated the premises and was awestruck by what I saw; distinct architecture and interior design from one room to the next, with each exuding its own particular aura of foreboding, mystery, and suspense.
On a daily basis for a period of 10 months I would document this buildings jarring transformation into commercial retail space.
