For 5 years I worked as a waiter at Chives Canadian Bistro, considered one of the top 100 restaurants in the country and located in Halifax N.S. During my time there I convinced the chef/owner to let me install a video project in the street front window/gallery to increase awareness of the restaurant.
Every night during service live video from a carefully placed “kitchen camera” (wide angle) is rear-projected onto the small street front window next to the restaurant entrance. While kitchen and wait staff are always on display, the potential viewer outside remains anonymous.
This work is a permanently installed at Chives Bistro.
